"I was unpacking a lot of stuff," she says. "I was singing, and identifying what it's like to be left. No one told me what I should do, back then, when the world started to crumble."

(Press Release) Following press and radio acclaim for his January comeback single "Pieces Of A Puzzle," Daniel Pearson has unveiled another new song for streaming/download. "Honest Man" tackles life’s complexities through the prism of sparse, soul-influenced Country and layers of jagged guitar riffs.

“Songwriting for me is always a quest for meaning, to say something authentic and personal” explains the singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. “I’m kind of at odds with a lot of other music out there - I don’t really do throwaway stuff or follow trends and I’m always trying to make sense of the world through my songs. Honest Man is about realising that our lives are full of challenges and hard choices - so how do you hold on to your values and not lose yourself in the compromises you might make along the way?”

With new singles set to drop each month this year and a highly engaged fanbase on streaming and social media, Pearson is a 21st-century digital artist steeped in analogue culture. In coverage of his three studio albums so far, writers for Uncut Magazine, No Depression, PopMatters, Baeble Music & more have been quick to praise timeless songwriting and poetic lyrics that draw on classic rock and Americana influences.

Nashville, Tenn. – Feb. 23, 2018 (Press Release) - Country recording artist, Kaylee Rutland, has released her new single, “Do You,” which is now available on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify.

The inspiration behind the new track originated from an idea that Rutland had in wanting to instill a positive message in her younger sister as well as young listeners. “Do You” is intended to encourage young women that going outside the “status-quo” is something to be celebrated.

Rutland adds, "‘Do You’ enforces the idea that young women should find comfort and pride in who they are. It is also a reminder to take the images we see on social media with a grain of salt. No one is perfect, regardless of his or her follower count. This song is a call for each of us to essentially just ‘do you’ and not worry about fitting into the mold that society has created for young women.”

Rutland co-wrote the song with three-time Grammy-nominee and longtime producer/mentor, Jamie O'Neal, along with Minnie Murphy.

(New York, NY – February 21, 2018 Press Release) – Singer songwriter, guitarist Chris Stills will release his new album, Don’t Be Afraid, on March 23 in North America. The video for the first song off the album. “The Weekend,” can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/g-DxXdgu-Y0

Recorded over the last few years, Don’t Be Afraid, is an evocative collection of eleven heartfelt songs. Chris exudes a pure authenticity as he writes about his personal life and experiences over the past decade. With an endearing and honest intimacy he crosses a wide range of ups and downs through love and hardships that Chris calls “a self-reflective, atmospheric space walk”.

His first album in over ten years, the collection features three co-writes showcasing new and old friendships. Two with David Saw on “The Weekend” and “In Love Again” and the other with Ryan Adams on “Criminal Mind” while jamming it for the first time at his studio, Pax Am in Hollywood. Chris makes good use of his influences, wearing them like a heart on his sleeve - Pink Floyd in “Don't Be Afraid”... Queen in “I’m Frightened”... Harry Nilsson in “This Summer Love” and Tom Petty in “Criminal Mind”. Yet, with Chris’s very personal touch and stellar vocals he ties it all together making it undeniably a Chris Stills record.

(Press Release) The Fretless is the Canadian fiddle foursome playing an essential part in the emerging movement mainstreaming traditional Irish folk music.

Starting with its debut album in 2012, the band has steadily pushed further into the public eye, winning Instrumental Album of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards and Instrumental Group of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Its 2014 tune “Waving To Ryan” has topped a million Spotify plays, and in 2016, The Fretless took home a Juno® award for Instrumental Album of The Year for its most recent full-length Bird’s Nest.

Through its deconstruction and transformation of the usual rhythmic, harmonic and structured arrangements of fiddle styles around the world, The Fretless is pushing traditional music to a new place, and has now issued itself an atypical challenge in the mission to find and convert fans unfamiliar with “progressive” traditional music.

Final Album by Multi-Instrumentalist Sandy Bull, 'Steel Tears,' Receives Reissue from Omnivore on April 13th

Contains three “tribute” tracks by renowned Nashville musicians including Jeff Hanna (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Mickey Raphael, Kevin Welch, Matraca Berg and others.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Press Release) –Alexander Bull, better known as Sandy Bull, was an accomplished player of many stringed instruments: guitar, pedal steel, banjo and oud. He helped connect the ’60s folk movement to later ’60s psychedelia, and set the model for latter-day finger-picking artists John Fahey, Leo Kottke, and Robbie Basho.

As musician Buddy Miller says, “Sandy Bull did it first, he laid the foundation, he built the highways, a visionary who heard music as a communal stew pot. In the ’60s, just having a Sandy Bull record in your collection made a statement about your musicality and mind.”

Steel Tears (1996), Bull’s seventh album, was the innovative artist’s final album prior to his death in 2001. The album also reveals his deep love of country music, which stems back to his childhood when his father would play Hank Williams records.

James McMurtry and John Moreland join forces for Midwest and East Coast tour in late March

Celebrated songwriters will serpentine from Columbia, Mo. (Rose Music Hall) through Charleston, S.C. (The Pour House) on 10-day tour through the region.

AUSTIN, Texas (Press Release) — Singer-songwriter enthusiasts take note: legendary songwriter James McMurtryand rapidly rising tunesmith John Moreland are teaming up for a nearly two-week tour throughout the Midwest and East Coast in March. The highly lauded troubadours will launch the run at Rose Music Hall in Columbia, Mo. and weave through Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia before wrapping at the Pour House in Charleston, S.C.

“I'm tired of the road, but I wouldn't want to be denied access to it,” McMurtry says. “I'm always writing new material one line at a time on the iPhone. I don't know when there will be a new record, but Ross Hogarth will produce it whenever it happens.”

McMurtry continues riding waves of universal acclaim for his last offering, Complicated Game. “At a stage where most veteran musicians fall into a groove or rut, McMurtry continues to surprise,” Texas Music magazine noted. “[Complicated Game] is a collection of narratives as sharply observed as any from McMurtry, but with a contemplative depth that comes with maturity.” Indeed, the Austin resident’s latest collection spotlights a singular craftsman as he turns inward (“These Things I've Come to Know,” “You Got to Me”). “The lyrical theme is mostly about relationships,” McMurtry says. “It's also a little about the big old world verses the poor little farmer or fisherman.”
