WILKESBORO, N.C. (February 28, 2017) – MerleFest, presented by Window World and scheduled for  April 27-30, 2017, is bringing two bluegrass legends to the 30th   celebration – banjo master  Béla Fleck  and  The Earls of Leicester featuring Jerry Douglas, a supergroup homage to Flatt & Scruggs made up of several of bluegrass’s finest musicians. Both will be playing on Saturday. The inclusion of these two acts underscores MerleFest’s commitment to Doc Watson’s original vision for a “traditional plus” festival, an event that is open to the evolution of tradition and looks for artists that push boundaries, as these performers do. The remainder of the star-packed lineup for MerleFest 2017 includes other artists that embody this crossover, like  Zac Brown Band,  The Avett Brothers,  Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, T ift Merritt,  Leftover Salmon  and more.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Press Release)— Following its reissue work with the  Bangles, Game Theory   and  Jellyfish,  Omnivore Recordings is proud to present the first-ever career overview of ’80s/’90s alt-pop mavericks  the Sneetches. Described byTrouser Press  as “one of the most tasteful, consistently tuneful pop bands on the American scene,” Form of Play: A Retrospective   is a compendium of the best moments from this Anglo-American outfit’s three albums and various singles and compilation appearances.

The Sneetches were formed in San Francisco in 1985 by  Mike Levy  and   Matt Carges, punk veterans who now preferred to indulge their love of pop and melody, initially as a studio project. In the era of grunge and hardcore, the musicians’ heroes constituted  the Zombies, Easybeats, the Monochrome Set, Nilsson and others, as Levy’s songwriting proffered a similar bittersweet blend of musical melody and lyrical misanthropy. ​

ASHEVILLE, NC (Press Release)--The 2nd Annual Jam In The Trees is thrilled to announce the addition of The Infamous Stringdusters   to the lineup which includes some incredible acts that have already been announced: Acoustic Syndicate, Peter Rowan, Larry Keel, Tim O'Brien, Jim Lauderdale, Underhill Rose, and Ken Tizzard.

Bluegrass virtuosos  The Infamous Stringdusters  are no stranger to WNC and are excited to return with their new album LAWS OF GRAVITY, which debuted at #3 on iTunes Country Chart and #1 on the Amazon Bluegrass Chart. As first revealed on  Rolling Stone Country, the new album marks a return to form for the Grammy-nominated acoustic five-piece. LAWS OF GRAVITY is all new original Dusters music--perhaps the most "Infamous" record they've done in their decade together. 

 New York-based singer-songwriter Frank Migliorelli, along with his band The Dirt Nappers, is gearing up to release his new album, Bass, Drums, Guitars and Organs on March 15th.  With this latest project, Migliorelli is  taking a simpler approach to his song craft, aiming to capture a “live” stripped down feel while balancing acoustic and electric sounds.

One of the album's highlights is  the drifting, dreamlike “Rafferty Train,” a story song about leaving it all behind that was written  as somewhat of an an homage and nod to the late great Gerry Rafferty. The video itself was compiled out of a few recording sessions and some rough footage shot on the the spur of the moment in the middle of a torrential rain storm.
