Tellico takes you on a journey through the modern
Appalachian soundscape, with masterful storytelling and memorable instrumental and vocal performances that wed tradition
with a contemporary Americana sensibility

ASHEVILLE, NC -- Tellico independently releases their debut album Relics and Roses on June 2, 2015. The album features the singing and songwriting of Anya Hinkle (guitar, fiddle) and Stig Stiglets (bass), and showcases Aaron Ballance on dobro and pedal and lap steel and Jed Willis on mandolin and clawhammer banjo. Guitar virtuoso Jon Stickley (Jon Stickley Trio) produced the album and makes a few guest appearances with drums and guitar.

The album is available now for pre-order at Tellicoband.com and includes an immediate download of the leading track, “Backstep Blues,” which is also available to stream now at the band’s website. Firmly planted in Asheville NC's thriving roots music scene, Tellico is well schooled in bluegrass but with an unbridled organic “Appalachiacana” sound, combining some of the finest voices, songs and instrumental prowess in western North Carolina and beyond. Anya and Stig's committed, authentic vocals are alloyed with Aaron's flowing and soaring dobro and Jed's textured and expressive mandolin, rooted in the mountain music they grew up with while pushing tradition into a modern Americana sound aesthetic.

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) When is a debut single a gold-certified chart-topper before its release? That's no riddle, it's a fact: Gord Bamford's "When Your Lips Are So Close" impacts U.S. country radio stations July 13 in a bid to bring its North-of-the-border dominance to a wider American audience.

The Canadian Country Music Association Single of the Year in 2014, makes Gord only the 7th Canadian artist to top the country charts in Canada. The song helped propel Alberta native Gord Bamford's already impressive career to headliner status. The rollout in the U.S. follows acclaimed performances and the commencement of a well-received radio tour, both of which have seeded interest in the States.

"Game on," Bamford says of the launch. "We've put a lot of thought and planning into bringing the music down here and it's great to get going full blast. The crowds and programmers have been great so far and it really feels like there's a place for this song and the rest of my music here in the US, without doubt the biggest country market in the world."

Commencing visits with top U.S. radio gatekeepers earlier this month, Bamford recently

played the ACM's Party For A Cause Festival in Dallas. He also performed at the All Star Jamfollowing the Guinness World Record-setting 50th Annual ACM Awards at AT&T Stadium.

Honored as the CMA's Global Artist of the Year in 2013, Gord is a 19-time Canadian Country Music Association winner and the reigning Male Artist of the Year. Learn more at www.gordbamford.com.

Not the usual TDC related news, but very cool...

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Dream Syndicate’s debut album, The Days of Wine and Roses, has long been considered the cornerstone album of L.A.’s early ’80sPaisley Underground scene, from which the band emerged. However, it was more influential than that: along with R.E.M.’s Murmur and the Minutemen’sDouble Nickels on the Dime, the release is often considered one of the cornerstone albums of ’80s indie-rock. In a way it is the missing link between the ’60s-influenced R.E.M. and the post-punk Minutemen. Later period bands such as the Pixies and Nirvana were formed out of the sonic ashes that the original Syndicate lineup left behind.
